Job Description:
As a monteur openbare verlichting, you will install and maintain innovative, safe, and energy-efficient lighting in public spaces and along roads. Dutch municipalities are transitioning to smart LED lighting. With approximately 3.5 million streetlights in the Netherlands, there is much work to be done. You will be working with a recognized installation company in the Deventer region.
In this role, you will be involved in both underground and above-ground installation and maintenance of lighting technology. Your tasks will include:
- Cabling
- Installing switching equipment
- Tracing and resolving faults in fixtures and light poles
- Repair work after accidents
- Replacing and finishing cabling
- Commissioning lighting installations
- Working from schematics
Safe working practices in public spaces are a given for you. Public lighting does not operate in isolation; you will work with traffic control systems, coordinate dynamic lighting, and connect with control rooms. Collaboration, planning, and good work documentation are also part of this job. In summary, this is a varied position with plenty of outdoor work at a recognized installation company in the infrastructure sector.
What Do You Need?
- Vocational education (MBO) level 3 in electrical engineering, low-voltage networks, or similar
- BEI certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Experience in electrical engineering
- Familiarity with working at heights (no fear of heights)
- VCA certification
- Knowledge of safe working practices along roads is a plus
- Familiarity with NEN3140 standards
- Driver’s license B (E or C is a plus)
